What’s the difference between sticky chai and normal chai?

Sticky chai has a sweetener added to it, either honey, agave or sugar generally. Normal chai tea usually only has dry tea and chai spices (the OG of masala chai).

My chai recipes have been passed on to me by my mother, whose tea time sessions are legendary in our family. These chai recipes have made their way to Australia from India, Africa, and UK. Now I'm passing on the art and tradition of chai to my children.

My name is Fatema Khanbhai, an ex-Londoner and now Sydney-sider, ex-fashion designer, and obsessed chai drinker and maker at The Chai Room (my mum was the best teacher!).

At The Chai Room, you’ll taste more than just tea, you’ll feel the warmth, tradition, and passion behind each of my blends.

The Chai Room produces chai tea like nothing you've tasted before – it's nutritious yet nourishing and firmly rooted in
tradition. Recipes passed on from my mother to me, that made their way across Africa, Europe and Australia.

For me, chai isn’t just a drink, it’s a moment to slow down, savour, and connect with myself. I wanted to share this relaxing ritual with others, and so The Chai Room was born.
